WHAT IS YOUR AVAILABILITY & HOW MUCH NOTICE DO YOU NEED?
I need a minimum of 2 weeks notice on a custom cake. Typically I’m booked out at least 6-8 weeks. Please note that I DO NOT hold dates. Deposits are required to secure your booking.
My next availability for custom cakes is mid July, so please inquire ASAP. I’m unavailable during these 2017 BLACKOUT DATES: September 9 through October 22, November 12 through December 31.

MMC Bakes is a licensed home baking business, and you can order from me directly. I do not have a storefront. In August 2014-May 2016 I partnered with Filipino Food & Bakery in San Diego to offer a rotating variety of my French Macarons, ube cheesecake & crinkle cookies, however, as of June 2016, the shop is no longer in business.

I do meet-ups in the Chula Vista area only.
Outside of Chula Vista: I may accommodate orders coming from further locations & will try to make other arrangements. Minimum order for delivery is $200 & a delivery fee will apply. Subject to availability; I run this business by myself!
WHY ARE YOUR PRICES HIGH?
Much like you can expect from a custom-made dress, a custom-made cake costs a lot more to make than mass-made cakes from a grocery store. Often times when I decorate a cake, it’s the first time I’m making that design, so I have to order materials (fondant, cutters, etc.) each time for each different cake, and rarely get to use them again. I use premium fondant & quality flavoring ingredients. The amount of time spent on the details and artistry of the cake are incomparable to ready-made cakes.

HOW DO I GET A QUOTE FOR A CAKE?
What are your cake flavors?
Once you are booked, I will send my list of cake flavors with over 25 combos to choose from. My cakes are baked with premium ingredients and are not too sweet!
HOW DO I PLACE A CUSTOM ORDER FOR FRENCH MACARONS?
For custom orders of flavors/colors of macarons, minimum order is 50 of each flavor/color. Must allow for at least 2-4 weeks notice for custom orders. Subject to availability. Minimum order is a dozen of the in-stock flavors. Please visit my French Macarons page for more information, then inquire here.
HOW IS PAYMENT HANDLED?
- Deposits are required to confirm your order and book your date, and are NON-REFUNDABLE. If your event happens to be postponed, your non-refundable deposit may be applied to a future date within 4 weeks from the original date; subject to availability.
- Balances are due two weeks in advance.
- We reserve the right to cancel your order if payment is not made by the due date & you’re non-responsive to a payment reminder e-mail.
- Wedding payments are managed differently.
After the order is discussed, I will send a detailed invoice via e-mail. Once the customer has confirmed the details & the customer makes the deposit/payment, your booking with be secured on my calendar.
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
MMC Bakes is a licensed home-based business located in Chula Vista, CA. Because this is a private home, I conduct business online, and handle order pickups at nearby public businesses such as Starbucks.
HOW MANY EMPLOYEES DO YOU HAVE?
None. I am the only baker & cake decorator for my business. I am also a full-time mom to two small children, so I have very limited availability. My orders take priority, and replying to e-mails or updating this site usually take a back seat. I apologize for the inconvenience!
DO YOU HAVE A FOOD HANDLERS PERMIT?
Yes, I have a valid Manager’s Food Handling Card, and have years of experience working and managing in food service.
ARE YOU COTTAGE FOOD REGISTERED?
Yes, MMC Bakes is a registered Cottage Food Operation in San Diego County DEH2017-FCFO-000443. This means I am legally allowed to sell my baked goods in San Diego county, which were made in my home, directly to the public.
